Between Sculpture and Nature.. "Dior" Unveils Its Haute Couture Collection in Paris

- The French house "Dior" presented its haute couture collection for Fall/Winter 2026-2027 in the French capital Paris under the supervision of creative designer Jonathan Anderson, who continued to explore the relationship between art and craft, offering a vision that blends the heritage of the French house with his own experimental touch. The show took place in an atmosphere inspired by nature within the gardens of the "Rodin" museum, where the venue transformed into a space that combines art, sculpture, and fashion.

Anderson based the collection's designs on the works of American sculptor Linda Benglis, who is known for transforming flat materials into three-dimensional compositions through folding, knotting, and shaping. This concept was reflected in the designs through hand-pleats, knots, and draping techniques that gave the dresses and coats a sculptural character and fluid movement.

The cuts featured architectural structures that combined solidity and lightness, with dresses having sculpted volumes, fabrics that wrapped around the body, and dramatic layers, alongside details suggesting movement such as large knots and formations that appeared to be hand-sculpted. The color palette was inspired by nature, ranging from earthy tones and calm desert shades to more vibrant colors inspired by flowers and landscapes in India and New Mexico, with a clear presence of metallic shades and sparkling touches.

The collection relied on precise artisanal techniques, from fabrics with metallic and iridescent effects to rich bead embroidery and floral embellishments. Anderson also drew some details from traditional Indian textiles, particularly chintz fabrics, which he reintroduced in bags and accessories.

This vision extended to the accessories, which also carried a clear artistic character, through shiny surfaces, floral decorations, embellishments, and sculptural elements. Notable celebrities who attended the show included the duo Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.

The Indian actress chose an orange dress from the Dior Cruise 2027 collection, featuring three-dimensional floral details and prominent fabric applications, and paired it with neutral-toned shoes and delicate jewelry. As for the American singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter, she attended in a mid-length lace dress with a soft silhouette and a draped neckline, adorned with floral details, and completed her look with a low braid hairstyle and natural makeup, deviating from her usual Hollywood style.

The Lebanese actress Razan Jamal also attended in a black dress with a flowing silhouette, highlighting draping details at the waist, while adorned with large white flowers.
