“I will be Senator Muhammad for you.” Abdul Rahman Al-Sayyid responds strongly to Trump

Abdul Rahman Al-Sayed responded to US President Donald Trump, after the president attacked the Democratic Senate candidate for Michigan, criticizing his belief and name earlier today. During an election rally in Al-Sayed's home state, Trump referred to him as "Muhammad" and claimed - contrary to the truth - that this Democrat from Michigan wants the United States to "adopt Islamic law."

In response, Al-Sayyed said at his own campaign rally: “I don’t even care if he remembers my full name; he can simply call me ‘Senator’ after November,” and added to Trump: “I will be ‘Senator Muhammad’ to you, brother.” Republicans have increasingly highlighted Al-Sayed's Islamic faith in the final weeks of one of the most important Senate races on the 2026 midterm election map.

Al-Sayed noted that the Republican Party is using its doctrine and name as a tool to distract from the real issues that matter to Michigan voters, such as rising prices and health care. The Michigan Democrat also mocked Trump's habit of commenting on people's physical appearance, showcasing his plan to avoid falling in the crosshairs of his harsh criticism.

Trump had repeatedly joked with the audience about the physical build of Ohio Senator Jon Husted before the elections, but today he went further than that. He cited rapper Nicki Minaj, saying she had a "very beautiful butt." "When I get to Washington, D.C., I'll make sure he doesn't see what I have," the gentleman said amid laughter from the audience. "Stay here, Donald," he continued.
