- American rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z announced that he will perform at the halftime show at the 61st edition of the Super Bowl in February 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, in a statement issued on Monday. The statement did not include anything to deny or confirm the participation of other artists besides him. Jay-Z has been an advisor to the NFL through his company Roc Nation since 2019.
In his role as a live music entertainment strategist and social justice advisor, he has effectively been responsible for selecting the artists who have taken the halftime stage over the past few years. “When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had only one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, at a time he saw fit,” Major League Soccer Commissioner Roger Goodell said in the announcement statement.
It is still unknown whether the show will witness the participation of members of his family, but the appearance of his wife Beyoncé as a guest is not at all unlikely. Each of them has previously appeared as a special guest at each other's concerts, and they also conducted joint artistic tours in 2014 and 2018.
Beyoncé recently appeared as a guest on Jay Z's tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of his album "Reasonable Doubt." Beyoncé was the main star of the 47th Super Bowl in 2013, during which she reunited her band Destiny’s Child as part of the show.
She also participated as a guest alongside Bruno Mars during Coldplay's performance at Super Bowl 50 in 2016.
