Today, Monday, the Royal Jordanian Air Force announced in a statement the implementation of the “Jordanian Deterrence-Hamoud” operation, saying that it targeted the hideouts of terrorist organizations in southern Syria.
The statement indicated that the military operation "comes in retaliation for our martyrs who died at the funeral of Hammoud Church in Karak."
The statement explained that "the terrorists who carried out this criminal act in Hammoud are linked to these terrorist organizations."

The statement said that Royal Air Force fighters destroyed a number of terrorist sites, and the operation resulted in the killing and wounding of many members of these terrorist organizations and the destruction of a number of their vehicles.
The Jordanian Armed Forces affirmed in the statement that it "stands on the lookout for anyone who dares to harm the security of citizens, and stresses its determination to move forward in uprooting the roots of extremism and terrorism, and that it is continuing in its sacred duty to protect the citizens' homeland and preserve its sanctities."
Jordanian King Abdullah II had previously written in a post on the (X) platform, “Here are the starvationists who have pursued them to their holes. We said that terrorists will not escape punishment, and no thinker who differentiates between Jordanian and Jordanian will escape punishment. May God have mercy on the martyrs, heal the injured, and protect our homeland and our people from all evil.”
Hours after their arrest, the Director of Public Security, Major General Obaidullah Al-Maaytah, confirmed today, Monday, that the perpetrators of the bloody attack on the Karak Church belonged to one family, and the other was their son-in-law, and they were all takfirists, he said.
He added during a joint press conference that the Karak crime had no prior planning, explaining that the three people were behind the funeral, and they made the decision to commit the crime, and that this came as a result of the ideas they had in their minds due to their intellectual formation, their deviation from the correct path, and their adoption of extremist ideology and terrorism.
He explained that the three people left the site in one vehicle, which was seized, and the relationship between the people and the vehicle was also controlled.
Al-Maaytah said that a number of weapons and a large amount of ammunition were seized from the three terrorists after the clash with them, explaining that the raid teams continued, over the past three days, to continuously comb the designated areas, until after midnight on Sunday, one of the villages was divided into sectors and a number of abandoned houses were identified in it, in preparation for their inspection and combing by the specialized teams.
