Tomorrow, the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries will hold a ministerial meeting in the Bahraini capital, Manama, to discuss issues of strengthening joint Gulf action, in addition to discussing the latest developments on the regional and international arena.
On the sidelines of the 168th ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the ninth joint ministerial meeting for the strategic dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Russia will be held.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, explained that the ninth joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Russia comes within the framework of the directives of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries aimed at consolidating relations with various countries and regional groupings, and building effective strategic partnerships that enhance the Gulf presence on the international arena.
He pointed out that the Russian-Gulf meeting discusses ways to increase joint cooperation on the one hand, and exchange views on a number of regional and international issues on the other hand.
The Secretary-General confirmed that the two sides, since signing the memorandum of understanding for the strategic dialogue in November 2011, have continued to strengthen their joint efforts to push Gulf-Russian relations towards broader horizons, in a way that serves mutual interests in various fields.
