He stressed that the information he spoke about Al-Khatib not obtaining a visa to travel to America was not correct, and he expressed his regret and apology for these statements.

The crisis began after statements made by Shalabi about Al-Khatib’s absence from the Al-Ahly delegation present in the United States, and his mention of the reasons for his not traveling, which sparked reactions that prompted the club to take a legal path.

In this context, Al-Ahly’s Board of Directors filed a report against Shalabi against the backdrop of statements that the club considered offensive to its president and the club, during an episode of his television program.

According to the case papers, the complaint included accusations of insult, slander, and publishing statements that the author considered offensive, before the case was referred to the Economic Court after completing investigations before the competent authorities.

However, Al-Khatib's decision to accept the apology and waive the lawsuits filed against Shalabi represents a new development in the course of the crisis, provided that the necessary legal procedures to end the cases are completed in accordance with what the competent court decides.
