Netanyahu orders the siege of Hebron and preparations for a complete closure of the West Bank

Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the imposition of an immediate siege on the city of Hebron, and preparations for a complete closure of the West Bank.

This comes on the eve of the elections scheduled to be held next Tuesday, and as Israeli party leaders demonstrate their strength to raise their electoral chances.

Netanyahu said: “I just completed an assessment of the situation with the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, the head of the General Security Agency (Shin Bet), the head of the National Security Council, and the commander of Central Command.”

He continued: "I have instructed the Israeli army to impose an immediate security cordon on the city of Hebron, and to prepare for a complete closure (of the West Bank), starting today."

A shooting attack carried out by two Palestinians this morning at the entrance to the city of Hebron resulted in their deaths and the injury of five Israelis.
