A Gulf official said that the US administration warned some Gulf states of the possibility of launching a short but intense military campaign against Iran. The source did not indicate the possible timing of any military action.
Sources reported to Ofoq News Network, earlier this week, citing American officials, that American forces in the Middle East are on standby to launch new military operations - which may be large-scale - against Iran, “within 96 hours of receiving” an order in this regard from US President Donald Trump. American officials explained that the forces necessary to carry out these potential attacks are already deployed in the region.
The sources added that the scope of the new US military operations may go beyond mere “lawn mowing” measures (i.e. directing limited strikes to maintain the status quo, such as targeting radars, missile launchers, or other Iranian assets that can be quickly replaced or repaired); This is the approach that has been followed since Trump halted all-out combat operations earlier this year. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report the American warning to the Gulf states.
Ofek News requested comment from both the Pentagon and the US State Department.
