“Take care of your physical fitness, because you look bad.” Trump attacks a journalist who asked him about his health condition

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that his decision to cancel an election rally scheduled for the state of Kansas this weekend had nothing to do with Senator Roger Marshall's electoral chances, nor with his personal ability to endure after a month of continuous travel. Trump added to reporters at Andrews Air Force Base, after returning from an election event in South Carolina, saying: “I will not go to Kansas because his (Marshall) situation is very good.”

Trump was scheduled to hold an election rally in Salina, Kansas, alongside the Republican senator, who opinion polls indicate is running in an unexpectedly tight election race. Instead, Trump said he would participate in a campaign rally by phone.

But when a journalist asked him about his health condition, and he continued by asking whether canceling the visit was due to his feeling tired from a lot of traveling, Trump became very emotional and said: “The reason is that I do not see the need to go to Kansas. I will go to Florida tomorrow, and I will do otherwise if something else comes up.” Addressing the journalist, he added: “You asked me: You are not going to Kansas, Mr. President, are you okay? You have been following my movements for two weeks; I am in excellent condition.” Then he described the journalist as “disgusting,” and continued sharply: “Take care of your physical fitness; your appearance is very bad.”

It is noteworthy that Trump is participating in almost daily election events this month, in an effort to strengthen support for the Republican Party, and in some recent events, he indicated that his voice appears hoarse as a result of the intense pace of travel.
