The "Coalition" announces the implementation of a "qualitative" military operation against the Houthis in Yemen.. What did it include?

- The “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” led by Saudi Arabia, announced on Monday the implementation of a military operation, which it described as qualitative, against the Iranian-backed Houthi group in Yemen, with the aim of neutralizing the sources of the threat. Coalition Forces spokesman, Turki Al-Maliki, previously said on the “X” Twitter platform: “We carried out a qualitative operation to neutralize the sources of the threat in response to repeated attacks from the terrorist Houthi militia, which included the destruction and neutralization of legitimate military targets in areas controlled by the terrorist Houthi militia.”

He added: "The operation included the destruction of 5 ballistic missile storage tunnels, 4 ballistic missile launch pads, and a missile warehouse, with a focus on cutting off the Houthi militia's supplies between the areas under its control. The operation also included targeting the militia's fortifications and the gatherings of its members and military equipment on the lines of contact inside Yemen."

The coalition spokesman stressed that "the leadership of the joint forces of the coalition continues to implement deterrent operational measures against the terrorist Houthi militia with the aim of protecting civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom, and protecting innocent civilians inside Yemen from the oppression of this militia," stressing that the military operation is consistent with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
