The "Coalition" announces the interception and destruction of drones and missiles launched towards Saudi Arabia

- The “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” led by Saudi Arabia, announced on Friday the interception and destruction of 3 drones in the southern region and the Riyadh region, in addition to two winged (cruise) missiles over the Red Sea. The official spokesman for the coalition, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated through his account on the “X” platform, previously Twitter, that the coalition intercepted and destroyed during the past hours a ballistic missile launched towards the city of Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.

The information provided by the coalition did not include additional details about who launched the missiles and drones, or the extent of the damage caused by them. On Thursday, Major General Turki Al-Maliki revealed details of the Houthi attacks on King Khalid and Abha airports.

He confirmed that there had been 20 Houthi attacks on King Khalid Airport since the beginning of this October, resulting in 17 deaths and 333 injuries. Major General Turki Al-Maliki added that two people were killed and 28 others were injured as a result of the Houthi attack on Abha Airport, adding that "what the Houthi militia is doing is a flagrant violation of international norms."

Turki Al-Maliki stressed that "targeting airports affects the security of the Kingdom and threatens air traffic." He said: "The Houthi attempts to target the Two Holy Mosques are a systematic hostile act and a heinous matter that targets pilgrims and visitors."
