The Gulf Cooperation Council discussed with the United Kingdom the economic and trade relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the United Kingdom, the developments of the free trade agreement between the two sides, and the importance of completing the necessary procedures for its entry into force, which contributes to expanding economic cooperation, enhancing trade and investment movement, and opening new horizons for partnership.
This was during a meeting between the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, and the Minister of State for Trade Policy in the United Kingdom, Lord Anas Sarwar, today, Tuesday, in London, on the sidelines of the British-Gulf Economic Forum.
For his part, Al Budawi stressed the importance of strengthening economic relations with the United Kingdom, in light of the historical ties and strategic partnership between the two sides, indicating their aspiration to develop trade and economic cooperation, and to benefit from the available opportunities and capabilities in a way that serves common interests and supports economic growth and prosperity.
