The United States is preparing for a 3-day attack on Iran, and Trump rejected 5 plans

New York - Ofoq News - The New York Times revealed that the US military is preparing to launch a large-scale attack on Iran that will last about three days, targeting missile systems, drones, energy facilities, and the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard.

American officials told the newspaper that President Donald Trump rejected five plans for military operations against Iran or the Houthis in recent months.

He made it clear that he would not launch an attack before the midterm elections for the US Congress next month. Meanwhile, three US aircraft carriers are expected to be deployed to the Middle East for the first time since 2003, along with more than 20,000 troops and hundreds of aircraft.

However, preparations for a possible attack continue. Last Friday, senior administration officials discussed the updated plans during a meeting at Camp David, chaired by Vice President J.D. Vance.

According to sources familiar with the discussions, the latest plan includes an intense military campaign that will last about 72 hours. Among the potential targets are Iran's stockpiles of missiles and drones, a large portion of which the Revolutionary Guard has recovered, as well as energy facilities and command centers.

In parallel with military preparations, diplomatic efforts continue. American officials confirmed Trump's assessment of some progress in the negotiations that took place through mediators, but stressed the existence of large gaps, especially with regard to the nuclear file. Washington demands reaching an agreement on the nuclear program first before settling other disputes, while Iranian representatives insist on discussing the nuclear file only in the last stage.

The report was published in The New York Times just hours after Trump announced that the United States would not attack Iran before the midterm elections, which will be held on November 3.

“We are having productive discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. The President noted that Iran is facing serious economic and military difficulties, but made clear that the US blockade will remain in full force.

Despite the president's announcement, US military leaders are on standby to launch a large-scale attack within days if Trump reverses his decision. However, the New York Times emphasized that mere military preparedness does not necessarily mean that Trump will agree to an attack, even after the election.
