Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - The Israeli occupation army and the Shin Bet General Security Service announced the implementation of two operations in Ramallah and the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, targeting the offices of two charitable organizations that they described as illegal, and claimed that they were used as headquarters for organizations that they described as “terrorist.”
The army and Shin Bet said that their forces arrested five activists who they said cooperated with the Hamas and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine movements.
The statement added that, yesterday, Tuesday, joint forces from the army and Shin Bet stormed the offices of the "Al-Dameer" Association for Prisoner Welfare and Human Rights in Ramallah, arrested wanted persons, and confiscated computers, documents, and checkbooks that they said bore indications of their connection to financial institutions affiliated with Hamas, which Israel had previously classified as illegal. It also suspended a decision to close the association.
In another operation carried out in recent weeks, forces stormed the offices of the “Islamic Society for Orphan Care” in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, arrested wanted persons and confiscated materials that they said bore indications of their connection to financial institutions affiliated with Hamas.
The statement did not include additional details regarding the identities of the detainees or the nature of the evidence on which these accusations were based.
