The oldest and most star-studded...letters exchanged between Ramadan and Al-Awadi

Egyptian artists Mohamed Ramadan and Ahmed Al-Awadi exchanged public messages about stardom and age, through their official accounts on social media, on Tuesday, against the backdrop of the expected competition between them in the upcoming Ramadan drama season 2027. Ramadan is competing after an absence of 3 years through the series “Ashmawy,” while Al-Awadi presents the series “Sultan El-Deeb.”

The story began in parallel with the start of filming for each of their series, through messages that can be described as “veiled,” such as the post that Ramadan wrote on his official Facebook page: “All three years he did what he had... now, shhh, Ashmawi has come,” to which Al-Awadi later responded: “The place you are returning to, we have stamped on it... (Sultan Al-Deeb) Ramadan 2027.”

But these "skirmishes" via indirect messages turned into public and direct messages, when Ramadan wrote on Tuesday: "My message to the Egyptian star Ahmed Al-Awadi... I love your sincere love for our simple people who contributed to our industry and the industry of many of Egypt's greats throughout a long history, and I love your pride in your belonging to them."

Ramadan added, addressing Al-Awadi: “You are truely older than me, but I took the championship before you... I mean, by age, you are my big brother, and by championships, I am your big brother who wishes you success, and I hope your series breaks the world, and, God willing, we will watch an episode of it together in Ramadan 2027.”

Al-Awadhi’s direct response to Ramadan was not long in coming, as he wrote to him: “The star Muhammad Ramadan, we are sisters and lovers... and you are actually younger than me by a year and a half, but you are great in your generosity, and greater in the number of deeds, and I have great love for simple people. I thank you very, very much for your appreciation of them in the post, because they are the reason for the existence of you and me.”

He added: “I wish you a strong return in your new series after an absence of 3 years... Your presence this year made me very happy, and may God bear witness to my words so that the spirit of fair competition will be kindled in the interest of our fellow viewers...

And I will take a promise from you that every year you must remain present.” He went to Ramadan with an invitation to watch the first episode of the series “Sultan El Deeb” together during the next Ramadan season: “In Ain Shams, my country...

And you celebrate the success of your beloved brother,” Al-Awadhi says.
