The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing US officials and informed sources, that Elon Musk had ordered a slowdown in Starshield, the military version of the Starlink service that Ukraine relies on.
According to the sources, Musk and US President Donald Trump expressed in recent weeks their dissatisfaction with Kiev's attacks on Russian oil refineries.
Last week, Musk restricted data transfer speeds to Ukraine, rendering several Ukrainian attack and interceptor drones virtually useless.
According to one of the newspaper’s sources, Musk made this decision unilaterally while US President Donald Trump did not issue any orders in this regard.
This comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Tuesday the resumption of intelligence exchange with the United States, allowing his country to receive advance warnings about Russian strikes.
Zelensky revealed that this change came after conversations with US officials, including a phone call he made earlier today with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
He told reporters in Oslo: “We are grateful that intelligence cooperation is going well. I am talking here about early warning, which is very important for our people, for children, adults and civilians, as we can hear warnings when a ballistic missile is on its way to us. Therefore, we are grateful to the American side now that this system is working.”
