The Iranian Revolutionary Guard threatens to target American bases in the region

Tehran - Ofoq News - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard threatened to expand the scope of the confrontation to include American military bases in the region, if the American army continues its current movements in the Strait of Hormuz, amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington regarding maritime traffic in the strategic corridor.

The Revolutionary Guard said, in a statement published on the Sepah News website, that the US army must realize that the continuation of this approach will lead to the confrontation extending to its bases in the region, describing its threat as a “serious warning.”

The Iranian threat comes against the backdrop of US forces escorting ships as they cross the Strait of Hormuz, in light of the dispute between the two sides over freedom of navigation and control of the sea lane, which is one of the most important routes for transporting oil and gas in the world.

In a related context, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the targeting of four ships that it said were transporting oil shipments in the northern Gulf. It also reported other incidents of ships colliding with naval mines west of the Strait of Hormuz. It was not possible to independently verify all the details provided by the Iranian side regarding these incidents.
