In light of the continuing battles between the Yemeni forces and the Houthi militias, the Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms revealed that the militia committed 170 crimes and violations during the past 48 hours in 9 governorates, in addition to launching about 432 projectiles randomly.

The network also explained in a recent report that the violations committed by the Houthi militias in the governorates of Taiz, Aden, Sana’a, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf, Lahj, Al-Dhalea, Ibb, and Amran, resulted in the killing of 29 citizens, including 4 women and 3 children, the injury of 36 citizens, including 5 women and 4 children, the kidnapping of 16 citizens, the raiding of about 61 homes, and the targeting of 23 homes by bombing, in addition to targeting two health facilities. Two mosques, Aden International Airport, and Maashiq Palace.

It also documented the killing of two travelers and the injury of others in a mine explosion on the Yatma-Al-Wadiya road.

The report indicated the continuation of the tight siege on Taiz and the prevention of the entry of food and basic supplies, petroleum derivatives, and medicines, in conjunction with the military escalation, which hinders the population’s access to treatment, food, and services, and exacerbates the rise in prices and the risks of hunger and disease, especially among children, the sick, and the most needy groups.

The network also reported that it had received a report about pressure on neighborhood leaders in the capital, Sana'a, to prepare lists to register new fighters, in addition to information about the push towards forced recruitment of children, according to what was reported by the "Saba" agency.

In addition, it called on the United Nations and the international community to clearly condemn these violations, and to take urgent and concrete measures to stop the attacks and protect civilians, lift the siege and open roads, and ensure the freedom of movement of the population and the safe, regular and unhindered access of food, water, fuel, medicines and aid.

It also called for declaring Taiz a disaster city and expanding the humanitarian response in proportion to the extent of the needs.

Since 2015, the Houthi group has imposed a siege on Taiz, as it controls a number of main roads and ports leading to the city, which has exacerbated the suffering of the population and the scarcity of goods and humanitarian aid.

Two weeks ago, the Yemeni forces launched Operation “Yemen Dawn” in order to liberate areas under Houthi control, extend state authority over all territories, and restore the capital, Sana’a.
