Kuwaiti Pilot Captain Reveals the Most Dangerous Threat Facing Aircraft During Flight

- Can you imagine that ice could pose one of the most dangerous threats to aircraft? (Watch the video above) Abdulaziz Al-Shaheel, a Kuwaiti pilot, said in an interview with Ofoq News in Arabic: "The wing is designed with precise engineering to generate lift, and when ice forms on it, it changes its shape, which can lead to a decrease in lift and an increase in drag." There are three main types of ice, and Al-Shaheel explained that ice formation does not necessarily require a snowstorm, but rather visible moisture and freezing temperatures.

Therefore, pilots use ice protection and removal systems, known as "Anti-ice" and "De-ice." He added: "Ice is not just a beautiful winter sight on the aircraft, but it can pose a real threat to its safety."
