Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper revealed a secret and lengthy meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Defense Secretary Pete Hasegawa, yesterday evening, at the Uvda base in southern Israel, against the backdrop of Israeli-American discussions regarding the possibility of resuming the war against Iran.
The newspaper reported that Netanyahu secretly left Ben Gurion Airport on a private plane heading to the base, instead of using a helicopter as usual on his trips to the Eilat area.
The visit took place without prior official notice from the Pentagon, at a particularly sensitive time: just eight days before the Knesset elections, and at a time when Israel and the United States are holding discussions about the possibility of renewing the military campaign against Iran.
The meeting itself, which was attended by foreign officials whose identities were not revealed, did not include any details about the content of the talks or the issues on the agenda.
After that, Netanyahu sent a strong message directly to Israel's enemies through his visit to the base: "We have the readiness, determination, and ability to strike our enemies as soon as necessary. Our enemies will receive more severe blows than they have received so far. Do not test us."
He was absent from the Beitar Jerusalem match after the meeting, contrary to what was scheduled, while his office declined to comment.
