The funeral procession for the victims of the attack on the Church of St. George in the south of the Kingdom began on Sunday, and below we present to you the latest developments: It is noteworthy that the Jordanian authorities announced, on Saturday, that the number of victims had risen to at least 9, after two people died from their injuries. In a press conference held on Friday afternoon, Jordanian Public Security announced that the “unknown” gunmen had not been arrested yet, adding that the shooting was a terrorist attack targeting Christians who were attending a funeral in the town of Hammoud.
King Abdullah II said that Jordan would respond "firmly" to those responsible for the "terrorist act." The king added: “Jordanian blood is precious, and we will strike with an iron fist anyone who insults this country,” according to the official Jordanian news agency (Petra).
King Abdullah had visited the injured at Prince Ali bin Al Hussein Hospital following the bloody attack.
