- The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the execution of a death sentence "as retribution" against a citizen in the Al-Jawf region, according to a statement from the ministry published by the Saudi Press Agency "SPA." The Saudi Ministry of Interior stated: "Abdulaziz bin Rafan bin Owaid Al-Mushayti Al-Anzi, a Saudi national, killed Mu'iya bint Askar bin Ali Al-Anzi, a Saudi national, by shooting her multiple times, which led to her death," according to SPA.
The ministry added: "By the grace of God, the security authorities were able to arrest the aforementioned perpetrator, and the investigation with him resulted in charges being filed against him for committing the crime. He was referred to the competent court, which issued a ruling confirming the charges against him and sentenced him to death as retribution. The ruling became final after being upheld by his reference, and a royal order was issued to enforce what was decided legally and endorsed by his reference." The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed that "the death sentence (as retribution) was carried out against the perpetrator Abdulaziz bin Rafan bin Owaid Al-Mushayti Al-Anzi, a Saudi national, on Monday, 24/4/1448 Hijri, corresponding to 5/10/2026 AD in the Al-Jawf region," according to the statement.
