Saudi Arabia Reveals Casualty Figures from Attacks on Abha and King Khalid Airports on Tuesday and Wednesday
The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia revealed on Wednesday the casualty figures from the attacks on Abha and King Khalid airports on Tuesday and Wednesday. This was stated in a statement from the authority, which mentioned: "During the days of Tuesday and Wednesday, the 25th and 26th of Rabi' al-Thani 1448 AH, corresponding to October 6 and 7, 2026 AD; the international airports of Abha and King Khalid were subjected to attacks targeting their facilities; emergency teams and relevant authorities began responding to the attacks immediately upon their occurrence according to the approved procedures and plans."

The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia revealed on Wednesday the toll of the attacks on Abha and King Khalid airports on Tuesday and Wednesday. This was stated in a statement from the authority, which mentioned: "During the days of Tuesday and Wednesday, the 25th and 26th of Rabi' al-Akhir 1448 AH, corresponding to October 6 and 7, 2026 AD; the international airports of Abha and King Khalid were subjected to two attacks targeting their facilities; emergency teams and relevant authorities immediately began to deal with the attacks as soon as they occurred according to the approved procedures and plans."
It continued: "The blatant attack on Abha International Airport resulted in the deaths of two residents of Moroccan and Algerian nationalities - may God have mercy on them - and (28) injuries to citizens and two residents of Bangladeshi and Filipino nationalities; their injuries ranged from minor to severe, while the attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of a resident of Sudanese nationality - may God have mercy on him - and (8) injuries including five citizens, two residents of Egyptian nationality, and one resident of Pakistani nationality whose injuries ranged from minor to severe." It added: "All the injured were immediately transported to the hospital to receive the necessary medical care, and the attacks resulted in some material damages..
The authority is working - in continuous integration and coordination with the relevant security agencies - to assess the damages and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of travelers and workers, and to maintain the security and safety of the civil aviation system in the Kingdom." It is worth mentioning that the Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen announced targeting airports in Saudi Arabia, while the spokesman for the "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen", Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced the destruction of the missile platforms from which the attack on the capital, Riyadh, was launched.
