The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved first place in the world in activating Internet Traffic Routing Security (RPKI RoV) technology, with a rate of 99.8%, according to the latest measurements of the APNIC organization, which is concerned with the management and distribution of Internet number resources in the Asia-Pacific region.

The technology contributes to verifying the correct directing of Internet traffic to authorized networks, and reducing its incorrect directing to untrusted websites or electronic services, thus enhancing network security and communication reliability.

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission explained that the Kingdom’s topping of this index reflects the efforts of the telecommunications sector in adopting the best global practices, and strengthens its position in international indicators, thus contributing to raising the level of maturity of the Internet infrastructure and increasing its reliability and security.

This achievement comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s progress in the Internet system maturity indicators, as it is among the top five countries in the world in the Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) index, and it also ranks first among the G20 countries in the Domain Name Secure Extension (DNSSEC) verification index.

These indicators reflect the development of the digital infrastructure in the Kingdom and the integration of efforts aimed at enhancing Internet security and the reliability of its services.
