Salfit - Ofoq News - Settlers established a new pastoral settlement outpost in the Al-Naqar area, west of the town of Yasuf, east of Salfit Governorate.
The head of the Yasuf Village Council, Hajj Juma Abdel Fattah, reported that settlers established the new outpost in the Al-Naqar area, in the context of the continuing settlement expansion taking place in Salfit Governorate, and the accompanying concerns about controlling agricultural lands for the benefit of settlement expansion.
Abdel Fattah pointed out that the establishment of pastoral outposts raises fears among citizens and farmers that restrictions will be imposed on them and their access to their lands will be restricted, as well as the possibility that they will be used as a starting point for further settlement expansion and the seizure of surrounding lands.
With the establishment of this outpost, the number of settlement outposts in Salfit Governorate rises to 16, while the governorate includes 24 settlements, an indication of the expansion of the settlement area and the challenges it poses to the Palestinian presence and agricultural lands in the region.
