Dr. Gamal Shaaban, former dean of the National Heart Institute in Egypt, revealed a possible cause of death for the child Juwiria Yasser Al-Desouki, a third-grade primary school student, who suffered a sudden health illness while she was at the Martyr Saif Al-Nasr Primary School in Dakahlia Governorate.

Jamal Shaaban published a post on his page on the social networking site “Facebook” today, Tuesday, in which he mourned the late child, calling for mercy and forgiveness for her, and asking his followers to pray for her.

Jamal Shaaban indicated that death may be related to sudden cardiac arrest, suggesting the possibility of a hereditary electrical defect in the heart, which is one of the conditions that may lead to serious disturbances in the heart rhythm.

The child, Juwiria Yasser Al-Desouki, a third-grade primary school student at the Martyr Saif Al-Nasr Primary School in the village of Sinjid, affiliated with the Aja Center in Dakahlia Governorate, died after she suffered a sudden health illness while she was at school.

According to what local media reported from a source in the Directorate of Education in Dakahlia, the child felt ill while she was at school, and her mother, who works as a teacher in the same school, was with her, so she quickly transferred her to the hospital, but she died there due to cardiac arrest.

Local coverage confirmed that the death occurred inside the hospital after the girl was transferred to it, and not inside the school as some publications reported.

In previous statements by Dr. Jamal Shaaban, the cardiologist confirmed that electrical disturbances in the heart affect the signals that regulate its beating, and some types of them may lead to an accelerated or irregular heartbeat, and in rare cases they may cause sudden cardiac arrest.

Some of these disorders may be hereditary, and they can also be found in people who have not previously had clear symptoms. However, the occurrence of sudden death alone is not sufficient to prove the presence of a hereditary disease, as determining the cause requires conducting the necessary medical evaluations.
