Suicide drones belonging to the Rapid Support Forces targeted the city of Damazin, the capital of the Blue Nile region, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, resulting in material damage and civilian casualties.
A correspondent for "Al Arabiya" and "Al Hadath" reported from a government source in the region that the Minister of Finance and the official spokesperson for the Blue Nile regional government survived the targeting of their residences.
In a related context, medical sources told "Al Arabiya" and "Al Hadath" that a suicide drone targeted another house in the northern neighborhoods of the city, resulting in the death of an entire family consisting of four people, with others injured with varying degrees of wounds.
Multiple explosions were heard in various areas of Damazin, coinciding with the Sudanese army's ground defenses responding to swarms of drones targeting the city.
In conjunction with this, the city of Roseires in Blue Nile is witnessing a new wave of displacement of residents fleeing from the locality of Wad al-Mahi in the eastern region, following the recent tensions and battles that erupted in the border strip between Sudan and Ethiopia, due to the incursion of groups affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces into some border areas.
On the ground, military sources confirmed to "Al Arabiya" and "Al Hadath" that the Sudanese army has regained control over various areas in the locality of Wad al-Mahi, after the Rapid Support Forces and their allied militias had announced control over them two days ago.
These areas include Jebel Nimer, Minza, Jebel al-Noor, Kadalo, and Bash Karkad.
