Today, Tuesday, a military operation was launched to liberate the Al-Waziyah district west of Taiz from the control of the Houthis.
Military sources reported that fierce clashes are taking place on this strategic front after government forces advanced from three axes, adding that dozens of Houthi elements fled from Mount Al-Mansourah.
The Al-Waziyah district holds geographical and strategic importance due to its commanding position over coastal routes and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The movement of government forces comes just one day after their control, through the Giants Forces and the National Shield, over Dhobab, which overlooks Bab al-Mandab.
Military and political developments in Yemen continue on Tuesday, as the war in Yemen takes a more decisive turn, with the expansion of military operations and the shift of the battle from containing the capabilities of the Houthis to targeting the core of their strength and their deployment sites.
While the legitimate forces announced the recovery of strategic sites in Bab al-Mandab and Dhubab, the coalition continued to strike missile launch platforms and their storage facilities.
In parallel with the field escalation, a clearer regional and international umbrella is forming, as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey proceed to activate their commitments to collective defense, while Washington reaffirms its support for the kingdom's security and its understanding of military movements against the Houthis.
On the ground, in field developments, the media center for the Taiz axis reported that about 100 members of the Houthi militia were killed and 150 others were injured during offensive operations carried out by the armed forces in the Taiz axis, supported by popular resistance, in several battlefronts as part of Operation Fajr Yemen.
The Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz, confirmed the continuation of the military operation until every inch of Yemen is liberated.
The spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, Majed Al-Nazili, clarified that the Yemeni army has begun implementing Operation "Fajr Al-Yemen" on a large scale to target the capabilities and elements of the Houthis.
He stated that the armed forces, under heavy air cover, carried out a "flanking" operation to control Bab al-Mandab, and that the "Giants Forces" and "National Shield" succeeded in taking control of Bab al-Mandab.
The government forces also surrounded elements of the Houthi militias in the Bab al-Mandab sector and on the island of Meon.
He pointed out that the government forces succeeded in taking control of Dhobab Airport, which is now fully under government control. They are moving to completely cut off the supply line of the Houthi group to the Dhobab area.
For his part, the commander of the National Shield Forces, Major General Abdul Rahman Al-Lahji, indicated that the goal of the battle is to restore the state, protect Yemenis, and end the aggression against their lives by the Houthi militias.
He affirmed that he directed all fighters to deal kindly with the Houthi prisoners, and stated that anyone who lays down their weapon becomes under the protection of the Yemeni forces, and their protection is a religious and moral duty.
