The largest non-nuclear weapon.. Specifications of the “Mother of All Bombs” Trump’s next choice in Iran

In light of political pressure to end the war and an attempt to find a quick way out of it, the Pentagon is studying a set of operational scenarios, including targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure and nuclear sites such as Jabal al-Ax.

These plans fall within the framework of psychological pressure rather than achieving decisive military gains, according to American officials. These plans include the use of what is known as the “Mother of All Bombs” or the GBU-43/B bomb, the largest non-nuclear weapon in the American arsenal.

It is noteworthy that the "Mother of All Bombs" weighs about ten tons and is nine meters long.

It is used to destroy targets over a large area equivalent to nine residential neighborhoods, by causing an explosion and intense pressure.

Despite its enormous destructive capacity, officials doubt its effectiveness against Iran's fortified underground nuclear facilities, given its lack of ability to penetrate deep enough and its destructive effects being limited to the surface.

President Donald Trump was the first US president to order the use of this bomb.

In his first term, specifically in 2017, it was used against ISIS tunnels and caves in Afghanistan.
